Amino Acid benefits beyond building muscle

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Essentially, they are what remains once the protein has been broken down and digested. When people talk about them, they often only focus on the fact that it will help them build and maintain muscle.

  3. Increase serotonin levels - Low levels of the amino acid Tryptophan has been associated with depression and this is a precursor to serotonin.

  4. Assists digestion - Amino acids support and repair intestinal walls. 

  5. Builds hormones - Amino acids are used to produce specific hormones such as oestrogen, thyroid and insulin.
